Apple eSIM Wiki
Apple eSIM is a proprietary subscriber identity module (SIM) produced by Apple Inc. It is included in cellular-enabled versions of its iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4, and iPad Pro tablets in Apple Retail Stores. The Apple SIM supports wireless services across multiple supported carriers, which can be selected from a user interface within their operating systems, removing the need to install a SIM provided by the carrier itself.

Interestingly, Apple isn’t the first company to have manufactured the eSIM functionality on the phones. Google implemented the eSIM technology on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, however, the availability was restricted to the US markets. Besides the US, the eSIM technology is available in nine other countries – Austria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Spain, the UK.
